Another year and another opportunity to truly impact your community. Playing golf never felt so good.
Heart of Compassion is a local 501(c)(3) that serves low-income families throughout the greater Escondido area. Every month for over eight years Heart of Compassion has provided much needed food, clothing, and other essential household supplies to help our neighbors in need – making a real impact within our community.
With two primary programs, Heart of Compassion is focused on serving those most in need right here in Escondido.
Community Outreach - These events are held mostly at Grape Day Park and are designed to meet the practical needs of those who are marginalized and overlooked in Escondido. All of our events are focused on providing assistance and care for the whole family, and in particular the kids. At each event, hundreds of people from the community come to the park and receive a hot meal, clothes, groceries, toys and lots of love and care.
These community events are all free for families in need. The demographics range from single moms, to young adults, to families with kids struggling to put food on the table. The need is huge and we are blessed to be a blessing! Additional events we host throughout the year include:
Summer kids programs
Halloween kids event
Back to school backpack and school supplies giveaway
Thanksgiving turkey dinners giveaway
Christmas toys giveaway
Spring break kids program
Feeding the Homeless - This is a fairly new addition to Heart of Compassion. In response to the growing homeless in our community, we feed 50 people every Saturday who are currently living on the street. We provide a meal, water, practical resources as well as care for them as people.
This tournament, as well as other fundraising activities throughout the year, makes it possible for Heart of Compassion to continue to provide the food, clothing, baby supplies, and other household items in desperate need to more than 250 families every month; to provide backpacks and school supplies to over 300 children each year; to distribute a full Thanksgiving dinner to over 100 families each year; and to provide toys, as well as food and clothing for their families, to nearly 500 children each Christmas.
